FAQ's
Can paint correction remove scratches and chips?
Paint correction can remove light to moderate scratches, swirl marks, marring, water spotting, stains caused by chemicals, bird droppings, tree sap, and oxidation from sun damage. Paint correction can also improve the appearance of more severe scratches and by leveling out the surrounding paint, but it cannot always completely eliminate them. Most often, rock chips are through the paint and require more advanced repairs.
Is paint correction worth it?
If you want to restore your car's paint to its original shine and protect it from future damage, paint correction is definitely worth considering. It can improve the look of your car and potentially increase its resale value. Paint correction also should be done before applying a ceramic coating. This not only ensures the product will adhere to the paint as designed, but it "locks in" a superior finish that the coating is protecting.
Do you need ceramic coating after paint correction?
While ceramic coating is not necessary after paint correction, it can provide additional protection and enhance the shine and durability of your car's paint. All of our paint corrections will come with some form of protection like a wax or sealant that may last up to a year. Ceramic coatings offer an extra layer of protection from marring, swirl marks, minor scratches and scuffs and help repel dirt, dust, grime, mud, water. Ceramic coatings last much longer than a traditional wax or sealant, up to several years depending on the coating. We offer professional grade coatings for all parts of your vehicles exterior including ceramic coatings for paint, glass, wheels, trim, vinyl, PPF, matte paint, and more. Our ceramic coatings enhance the depth, clarity, and gloss of your paint to help your vehicle stand out.
Is paint correction bad?
If performed by a skilled professional using the right equipment and techniques, paint correction is not bad for your car. It is not a process that should be included on every wash or detail. Paint correction is actually an abrasive process that removes microscopic layers of clearcoat or paint to level it with the surrounding finish. This results in a mirror-like shine. However, if done improperly, paint correction can potentially damage the paint or clear coat and leave you with a damaged vehicle that can require it to be repainted. We are professionals that are experienced in paint correction and fully insured for your peace of mind.
How many times can I get my paint corrected?
Paint correction is like emergency surgery. Automotive finishes are very thin. With every correction, a small amount of the finish is removed. If too much of the finish is removed, the failing of the finish is accelerated. Once a paint or clear fails, the only true fix is repainting. This is why we strongly recommend a long term coating after any type of paint correction. These coatings are designed to bond with and sit on top of your finish to give it a sacrificial layer, oftentimes thicker than what was removed during the correction process. That is just one more piece of armor between your finish and the elements.
